These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Battery Academy at batteryacademy.net, the BatteryTech app, and related services (together, the "Services"), provided by Battery Repair Experts, Inc., a Florida corporation based in Orlando, Florida ("we", "us").
By creating an account or using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you use the Services on behalf of a business, you confirm that you can bind that business to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- One account gives you access to both Battery Academy and BatteryTech.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Keep your password secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us right away at info@batteryrepairexperts.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
2. High-voltage safety
Hybrid and EV batteries operate at voltages that can cause serious injury or death. The course, the AI tutor, the bench labs and all other materials are educational. They are not a substitute for supervised hands-on training, the vehicle manufacturer's service information, or applicable safety laws and standards.
- Never work on a live pack until you have completed the safety module, have rated personal protective equipment, and follow the procedures in the course and in the manufacturer's service information.
- No online course replaces supervised hands-on practice. Work under an experienced technician with rated PPE before working on your own.
- You are solely responsible for how you apply what you learn, for the work you perform, and for complying with all laws, permits and licensing requirements where you work.
3. Plans, billing and renewals
| Plan | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Module 1 (HV safety & PPE), its quiz and flashcards, and the AI tutor with a limit of 10 questions |
| Technician | $99 per month | All 8 modules and 46 lessons, adaptive lessons and unlimited AI tutor, bench-test labs, vehicle reference library, completion certificate, community access |
| Shop | $399 per month | Everything in Technician, up to 6 technician seats, owner dashboard with progress for each technician, monthly live Q&A |
- Paid plans renew automatically every month until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card number.
- You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
- Prices do not include taxes unless stated. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; the change applies from your next renewal.
- Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.
4. Hands-on workshop (Orlando, Florida)
- The two-day workshop costs $999 per person and includes hotel stay, meals, local transportation, PPE, tools and real packs to work on, and a hands-on completion certificate. Airfare is not included.
- To attend you must complete all 8 online modules and pass the final assessment.
- Seats are requested through an application form. A request is not a reservation: your seat is confirmed only when we confirm the dates in writing and receive payment.
- You must follow the instructor's safety directions at all times. We may remove anyone whose conduct puts themselves or others at risk, without refund.
- Rescheduling and cancellations are covered by our Refund Policy.
5. Pro Technician Launch Package
- The Pro Technician Launch Package costs $25,000 (one-time, all-inclusive). Airfare to Orlando is not included.
- You apply through a form; we then call you to answer questions, confirm workshop dates and go over payment and financing options. The package is provided under a separate written agreement that controls if it conflicts with these Terms.
- Financing, where available, is offered by third-party lenders and is subject to credit approval. We are not a lender and do not decide credit applications.
- This package provides training, equipment and services. It is not a franchise or a business opportunity. Certification is awarded only for completing the course and passing the final assessment; buying the package does not guarantee it. You operate under your own business name and brand, set your own prices and run your business your way. We make no representations about income or earnings.
- The revenue estimator on our website is a calculator, not a projection. It uses only the numbers you enter and shows revenue, not profit.
- The introduction to an independent Google marketing specialist is only an introduction. That specialist is not our employee or agent; you decide whether to hire them and contract with them directly.
6. Certificates
- A certificate of course completion is awarded only to students who complete all 8 modules and pass the final assessment. Each certificate has a unique ID that anyone can verify on our website.
- A certificate of course completion isn't a government license or a manufacturer certification.
- We may revoke a certificate obtained by cheating, impersonation or any other dishonest means, and the verification page will then show it as revoked.
7. AI tutor
- The AI tutor answers from the course material, but its answers can be incomplete or wrong. Check important information against the lessons and the manufacturer's service information.
- The tutor will not guide work on an energized pack beyond what the course covers. It is not a substitute for a supervising technician.
- Questions and answers are stored to provide the service and improve it, as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not enter other people's personal information.
- Usage limits apply by plan (for example, 10 questions on the Free plan) and to prevent abuse.
8. Course content and license
- All course content (lessons, labs, figures, flashcards, exams, vehicle reference sheets and software) belongs to us or our licensors.
- We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the content for your own training while your plan is active. On the Shop plan, each seat is for one named technician.
- You may not copy, resell, share account access, record or redistribute the content, or use it to train other AI systems.
- Content about shipping NiMH batteries as hazardous materials is for information only and is not legal advice. Check the current regulations that apply to you.
9. Directory of certified technicians
- Only technicians who hold a valid certificate and choose to be listed appear in the directory. You can edit or remove your listing at any time.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing. A listing is not an endorsement by us, and we are not party to any work you do for customers.
10. BatteryTech
- BatteryTech is a tool for running a repair business. The shop owner who creates a shop is responsible for the customer data entered into it, for obtaining any consent needed to send customers text messages, and for the estimates, invoices, warranties and work recorded in the app.
- Text messages are sent only to recipients who have consented. Recipients can reply STOP to opt out at any time.
- We process customer data in BatteryTech on behalf of the shop, as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to: break the law; upload malicious code; probe or bypass our security; scrape the Services; impersonate anyone; harass others in the community; post content you do not have the right to share; or use the Services to send unsolicited messages.
12. Your content
You keep ownership of what you submit (notes, community posts, listing details, data you enter in BatteryTech). You give us a license to host, process and display it only as needed to provide the Services. We may remove content that breaks these Terms.
13. Third-party services
The Services rely on third parties such as payment processors, hosting and messaging providers. Their terms may also apply. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services we link to.
14. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that following the course will produce any particular result.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
16. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your work on vehicles or batteries, your business, your content, or your breach of these Terms or the law.
17. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as licenses you gave us, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity) survive termination.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Orange County, Florida have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will notify you by email or in the Services at least 15 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Services after that means you accept the new Terms.
